Together we can join together to remember loved ones and help prevent overdose in our community.

9am to 5pm weekdays from 23 August to 2 September visit the IOAD Remembrance Tree in NTAHC NSPs in Darwin, Palmerston, and Alice Springs. Take a moment to write down a message or the name of a loved one lost to overdose and tie it on the tree.

NTAHC staff collect all the names at the weeks end, and the tree is then planted on our staff members block of land as a permanent tree of remembrance.

NTAHC Free Take Home Naloxone Program aims to get Naloxone into the hands of people who are likely to witness and respond to an accidental opioid overdose.

Naloxone is a safe lifesaving medication that may reverse an opioid overdose.

Naloxone can be accessed at any of NTAHCs Needle and Syringe programs (NSP) in Darwin, Alice Springs, Palmerston or at selected pharmacies.

Naloxone is available in a nasal spray with the name Nyxoid.

To access free Naloxone from NTAHC:

1. Attend a NTAHC NSP and undergo a brief intervention where NSP staff will assess your competence to administer Naloxone and provide training on responding to an opioid overdose.
2. NSP staff will supply you with a Naloxone kit that consists of the nasal spray, instructions on responding to an opioid overdose, and an overdose first aid, quick reference fridge magnet.
